Food Is Medicine
There is a lot of extra fire this month. Incorporating plenty of foods that belong to the water element will help balance the fire. One of the most common symptoms many people may experience is an increase in anxiety from all the extra fire.
If fire is a beneficial element for you, you'll feel better this month, if it's not needed, then you may experience some of the symptoms of excess fire.
Foods to eat plenty of:
blackberry, blueberry, eggplant, grapes, watermelon, pears, cucumber, seaweed, water chestnut, black sesame, barley, millet, black rice, walnuts, beans - especially black beans and mung beans, chia seeds, poppy seeds, salmon, fish, oysters, crab, sardines, pork, duck.
Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated. Try coconut water, cactus water, or drink fruit or herbal infusions. Watermelon-mint, cucumber, blackberry-pear are just a few delicious suggestions to try. Add electrolytes into your water, like LMNT or make your own.
Avoid sugar, artificial sweeteners, coffee, tea, hot spicy foods.
Take time to get plenty of rest, and spend more time meditating as these are both water activities.
Electrolyte Drink Recipe
Squeeze half a lemon
1 teaspoon sea salt (Celtic grey salt)
1 teaspoon real maple syrup Grade A (formally grade B)
8oz of water
Add more or less of any ingredient to your taste likening.
